"Before and After Photos", of my exercise bike!

We all know we have done it or we are doing it, using our exercise bike for a clothes hanger. And why not, it is perfect for laying out your clothes for the next day or hanging things from the handle, it is especially great for bras, although there will be no photo of that sight, wouldn't want to scare you! I have walked by my bike for the last 5 years many times a day, all this time my bike has waited patiently for me to use it as it was intended. I may have climbed on 20 times in the last 5 years and that might be stretching it. Well, it has all ended! I literally gave my exercise bike a dusting off, some extra love, and climbed on and I am not getting off. Exercise is going to be part of my life for the rest of my life, it is not an option, my goal is a healthy lifestyle. What works best for me is to work on "baby steps", (gotta rent that movie again, Bill Murray was hilarious!) So I have added 1 minute of biking each day starting with 10 minutes for the last few weeks, sounds simplistic but it works for me. This week I have begun to build on the intensity and last night I felt like I had a fabulous workout. I have also accomplished other "baby exercise steps",  when I watch TV I am either doing floor or ball exercises, with the goal of building endurance and strength. If any of us add up a bunch of "baby steps" we will find we are actually getting somewhere. It is easy to feel overwhelmed if I tell myself I  need to lose 100 lbs. However, if I take one day at a time, one work out, one meal or snack at a time, before I know it, ALL those baby steps add up to one giant step toward my goals. So let's hear it for baby steps!! Thank for all your encouraging remarks on FB, I am blessed to have all of you in my life.
