You can Run but you Cannot Hide!

Being a considerable amount overweight is one of those things you cannot hide. You and your body are there for all the world to see!! You might as well hang a sign from your neck that states "I am an over eater and out of control". You know every single day you wake up that you are still overweight, you never forget for even a moment. In fact, the little tape recorder in your head reminds you often during the day. You are aware when you walk into a room full of people, walk by the windows at the mall, try on clothes, eat in front of people or bend over. You can run but you cannot HIDE. One of the most grievous parts about being overweight is the fact that it affects your self esteem tremendously, which then in turn can cause you to overeat and so the cycle continues. Whether we admit it or not we judge each other by our appearance. I catch myself judging others, especially with people that are MORE obese than me, can you imagine that?? That is the cold truth. We all want to feel better than "somebody". That can be the "UGLY" side of human behavior which needs to be tamed. If you have a problem with alcohol or smoking it does not affect your appearance, you can hide those obsessions for years from people you love, which is a tragedy in itself. So for those of us who are overweight we need to develop are self worth OUTSIDE of our appearance. And I dare say, EVERYBODY needs to learn this. We are not the SUM of what we look like on the outside. We are equally created with infinite possibilities, each of us are as unique as the stars above, there is no one like you or me and NOT one of us is better than the other, not even one. I chose to soar and fly like an eagle and catch the wind beneath my wings because I know I have been fearfully and wonderfully made, and ALSO I am a little lighter by 19.6 lbs!!
